Biography
John F. Link was an American film and television editor, also credited as John F. Link Jr. His father, John F. Link Sr., was a film editor nominated for an Academy Award for For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943). Link began working in the industry in the late 1960s.
He is best known for editing several action films directed by John McTiernan, including Predator (1987) and Die Hard (1988), the latter earning him a shared Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing. Other credits from the 1980s and 1990s include Commando (1985), Road House (1989), Hard to Kill (1990), The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992), The Mighty Ducks (1992), The Three Musketeers (1993) and The Quest (1996).
Link's career extended into television and later films such as D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994) and Cherry Falls (1999).
