Biography
John Kellogg (born Giles Vernon Kellogg Jr.) was an American actor who worked in film, television and stage from the 1930s to the 1990s. He began his career on Broadway under the name Giles V. Kellogg, appearing in the long-running comedy Brother Rat, before moving into film bit parts and signing a contract with Columbia Pictures in 1946.
Kellogg played mostly supporting roles, including Major Cobb in the 1949 war film Twelve O'Clock High. Other credits include A Walk in the Sun (1945), The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and numerous television guest appearances in series such as Bonanza, The Virginian and Gunsmoke. He had a recurring role as Jack Chandler in the soap opera Peyton Place (1966–67). He died in Los Angeles in 2000.
