Biography
John Pomeroy is an American animator, producer and writer. He began his career at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1973 as a background artist and became a full animator the following year, working on Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (1974).
In 1979 Pomeroy left Disney with Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and others to form Don Bluth Productions. He served as producer and contributed to the story adaptation of their first feature, The Secret of NIMH (1982). He later produced An American Tail (1986) and The Land Before Time (1988) at Sullivan Bluth Studios. Pomeroy returned to Disney in the 1990s as supervising animator on Pocahontas (1995) and worked on subsequent features including Treasure Planet (2002). He is also a sculptor who creates character busts for animators.
