Biography
John Riggi is an American television writer, producer, director and actor. He is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1978 with a degree in biology. He began his career in environmental technology before turning to stand-up comedy and writing for television.
Riggi has written for series including The Larry Sanders Show (1993–1997), 30 Rock (2006–2013) and The Comeback (2005–2014). He has directed episodes of Modern Family (2009), 2 Broke Girls (2011), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015), Life in Pieces (2015) and others. He wrote episodes of the Netflix series The Four Seasons (2025), on which he also served as co-executive producer. Riggi received a Writers Guild of America Award nomination for his work on 30 Rock.
