Biography

John Sharp (5 August 1920 – 26 November 1992) was a British actor born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. He began his career in film in 1949 and made more than 130 appearances in television and film until 1991, while remaining active in theatre.

Sharp appeared as Number Two in the 1967 series The Prisoner. His other credits include roles in The Avengers (1967), The Wicker Man (1973), Barry Lyndon (1975) and Top Secret! (1984). He had a recurring role as Ezra Biggins in the series All Creatures Great and Small (1978–1990). His final television appearance was in Lovejoy (1991).
