Biography
John Shirley is a British film editor. Born in London in 1922, he began working as an editor in the early 1950s on productions including Verbrechen ohne Schuld (1951) and continued with credits on Carry On comedies such as Carry On Nurse (1959) and Carry On Cruising (1962).
His later work includes editing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968), the James Bond films Live and Let Die (1973) and The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), Lion of the Desert (1981), King Solomon's Mines (1985) and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987). He received a BAFTA nomination for his editing.
