Biography

Jonathan D. Krane was an American film producer, talent manager and studio head. Born in Los Angeles on 1 May 1952, he graduated from St John's College and Yale Law School. He began his career through a partnership with director Blake Edwards, serving as CEO of Blake Edwards Entertainment and as executive producer on several of Edwards' films in the early 1980s.

Krane founded Management Company Entertainment Group (MCEG) in the late 1980s. He is best known for his partnership with John Travolta, whom he managed from 1987 until 2002. He produced or executive produced many of Travolta's films, including Look Who's Talking (1989), Phenomenon (1996), Michael (1996), Face/Off (1997), Primary Colors (1998), The General's Daughter (1999), Battlefield Earth (2000), Swordfish (2001) and Basic (2003). He was married to actress Sally Kellerman from 1980 until his death on 1 August 2016.
