Biography
Jonathan McKinstry is a production designer and art director. He began working in the film industry in the early 1980s after studying interior design, initially taking roles at Granada Television before progressing through art department positions on feature films.
His credits as supervising art director or art director include Mission: Impossible (1996), Love Actually (2003), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) and Alexander (2004). As production designer he has worked on the series Penny Dreadful (2014–2016), for which he received Emmy nominations, Shadow and Bone (2021) and The Terror (2018–2019).
McKinstry has also received Emmy nominations for his work on The Borgias.
