Biography

Jonathan Sehring is a film producer and former executive at IFC Films. He was part of the team that launched the Independent Film Channel in 1994 and subsequently created IFC Films and IFC Productions.

Sehring produced Boyhood (2014), having overseen its financing across the film’s 12-year production period. He served as executive producer on numerous independent films, including Boys Don't Cry (1999), Waking Life (2001), Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005) and Monsoon Wedding (2001). Under his leadership, IFC Films launched the genre label IFC Midnight and the Sundance Selects distribution label in 2009, and pioneered a theatrical and video-on-demand day-and-date release model.

Sehring departed IFC Films at the end of 2018 after nearly four decades with its parent company.
