Biography

Jonathan Sela, ASC (born 29 April 1978) is a French-born Israeli cinematographer. He was raised in Israel and began working there in television before emigrating to the United States at age 19. He studied at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles and served as assistant to cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond.

Sela has worked extensively in action films. His credits as director of photography include John Wick (2014), Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), Atomic Blonde (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018), Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), Bullet Train (2022) and The Lost City (2022). He has collaborated repeatedly with directors John Moore and David Leitch, including on The Fall Guy (2024). He was invited to join the American Society of Cinematographers in 2022.
