Biography
Jools Holland, also credited as Julian Holland, is an English musician, pianist, bandleader and television presenter. He appeared as the Punk in Bank in the BBC sitcom The Young Ones (1984).
Born Julian Miles Holland on 24 January 1958 in Blackheath, London, he was a founding member of the band Squeeze. He co-presented the Channel 4 music series The Tube (1982–1987) and has hosted Later... with Jools Holland on BBC Two since 1992, along with the annual Jools' Annual Hootenanny. He leads Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra.
Holland has appeared in films including Spice World (1997), as musical director, and Me and Orson Welles (2008), as band leader. He received an OBE for services to music.
