Biography

Joseph A. Porro, also credited as Joseph Porro, is an American costume designer. He studied costuming at the University of California, Los Angeles, and fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York. He began his career as an assistant to fashion designers including Geoffrey Beene and Halston.

Porro has designed costumes for numerous films, including Tombstone (1993), Stargate (1994), Independence Day (1996), Godzilla (1998), Stuart Little (1999), Shanghai Noon (2000) and Equilibrium (2002). His television credits include Ghost Whisperer (2005–2007), Salem (2014–2017), The Orville (2017–2019) and The Mandalorian (2019). He has received Emmy nominations for outstanding costumes, including for the 2003 television film The Music Man and for The Mandalorian.
