Biography
Josh Mostel is an American actor. Born on 21 December 1946 in New York City, he is the son of actor Zero Mostel. He began his career as a boy soprano at the Metropolitan Opera and graduated from Brandeis University before making his Broadway debut in 1971.
Mostel has appeared in numerous films and television series. His film roles include Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), Barry Shalowitz in City Slickers (1991) and its sequel, Principal Max Anderson in Billy Madison (1995), and Arthur Brooks in Big Daddy (1999). He has also performed on Broadway in productions such as the 1992 musical My Favorite Year.
