Biography
Joshua Astrachan is an American film producer. He co-founded the New York-based production company Animal Kingdom in 2012 and lives and works in New York City.
Prior to founding Animal Kingdom, Astrachan produced films for director Robert Altman over the course of a decade. Under the Animal Kingdom banner his credits include Short Term 12 (2013), Paterson (2016), Louder Than Bombs (2015), Kicks (2016) and Tramps (2016). He has also served as executive producer on It Follows (2014) and Trespass Against Us (2016), and as producer on The Dead Don't Die (2019) and Goodnight Mommy (2022).
Earlier credits include co-producer on Gosford Park (2001) and producer on A Prairie Home Companion (2006) and Friends with Kids (2012).
