Biography
Julia Deakin is an English actress. She was born in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, and trained at Mountview Theatre School after beginning teacher training in French and drama.
She is known for her television roles as Carole Dawlish in the sitcom So Haunt Me (1992–1994), May Skinner in Oh, Doctor Beeching! (1996–1997) and Marsha Klein in Spaced (1999–2001). Her film appearances include Yvonne's mother in Shaun of the Dead (2004), Mary Porter in Hot Fuzz (2007) and the B & B landlady in The World's End (2013). She has also appeared in High-Rise (2015) and series such as Holby City and House of Anubis.
On stage, Deakin played Mrs Sowerberry in the 1994 West End revival of Oliver!. She is married to actor and author Michael Simkins.
