Biography

Kate Reid BSC is a British cinematographer. She trained at the National Film and Television School, where she received the Freddie Francis Scholarship, after working as a camera assistant on features including Batman Begins (2005) and The Brothers Grimm (2005).

Her television credits include additional photography on the Game of Thrones episode "The Long Night" (2019), series cinematography on Press and Marcella (2016), and work on Hanna (2019) and The Nevers (2021). She received an ASC nomination for Best Cinematography in a Non-Commercial Television Series for The Nevers. Other credits include The Baby (2022) and additional photography on Silo (2023).

She shot episodes of the 2025 series What It Feels Like for a Girl. Narrative films she has photographed have screened at festivals including Sundance, Berlin and SXSW. In 2018 she was invited to join the British Society of Cinematographers, and in 2020 she was named among Screen Daily and the British Film Commission's Next Generation UK Film Award contenders.
