Biography
Kate Rutter is an English actress. She was born and raised in Leeds and trained at Rose Bruford College. She began her career in theatre in the 1970s and has worked in film, television, theatre and radio.
She is known for her role as Ann in I, Daniel Blake (2016). Other film credits include The Full Monty (1997), Oranges and Sunshine (2010), The Railway Man (2013) and Peterloo (2018). On television she has appeared in Queer as Folk (1999), Call the Midwife (2012), His Dark Materials (2019) as Sister Betty and The Long Shadow (2023). She was a series regular in River City (2012–2013) as Miriam Stubbs and has appeared in Coronation Street.
