Biography
Kate Sanford, also credited as Katherine Sanford, is an American film and television editor. She trained at UC Berkeley and began editing professionally in 1994.
She edited all five seasons of the HBO series The Wire (2002–2008), working on 19 episodes, as well as other David Simon projects including Treme (2010) and Show Me a Hero (2015). Her television credits also include Sex and the City (1998), Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014), Vinyl (2016), The Deuce (2017–2019) and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2022). Film work includes American Buffalo (1996), O (2001) and Management (2009).
A member of the American Cinema Editors, Sanford has won ACE Eddie Awards for episodes of The Wire, Treme and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and serves on the organisation's board of directors.
