Biography
Kathy Altieri is an American production designer and art director who has worked primarily in animation. She began her career as a background artist and supervisor on several Disney films, including The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992) and The Lion King (1994). She joined DreamWorks Animation in 1994 as its first artist hired and later served as art director on The Prince of Egypt (1998).
Altieri worked as production designer on Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002), Over the Hedge (2006), How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and Home (2015). She received a Saturn Award nomination for her work on How to Train Your Dragon. She was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2005.
