Biography
Keith Washington is an English television director and former actor. Born on 16 February 1945 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, he began his career as an actor, appearing in series such as Special Branch (1969–1970) and playing Matthew in the miniseries Jesus of Nazareth (1977). He later trained as a director on the BBC Trainee Directors’ Course and worked as associate director at Harrogate Theatre.
Washington has directed numerous episodes of long-running British television dramas and series, including 30 episodes of Brookside (1982–2002), multiple episodes of Casualty (1988–2004), The Knock (1994–1996) and six episodes of Jonathan Creek (1998–1999). He received a BAFTA Television Award nomination for Best Drama Series in 1999 for his work on Jonathan Creek.
