Biography
Ken Estin is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a freelance writer, with his first professional script for the series Taxi (1978). He later served as a producer on the show and became its showrunner.
Estin worked as a writer and producer on Cheers (1982). He co-created The Tracey Ullman Show with James L. Brooks and developed early animation segments with Matt Groening that led to The Simpsons. He also rewrote the screenplay for the film Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and received a special thanks credit on Big (1988).
Estin won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1982 for writing the Taxi episode 'Elegant Iggy' and another in 1989 for producing The Tracey Ullman Show. He received a Writers Guild of America Award in 1979 and has multiple additional Emmy nominations.
