Biography
David Lloyd was an American television screenwriter and producer. He wrote for numerous sitcoms including The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970), The Bob Newhart Show (1972), Taxi (1978), Cheers (1982), Wings (1990) and Frasier (1993).
Lloyd began his career writing for late-night talk shows before moving into sitcoms in the 1970s. He received Emmy Awards for writing on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, notably the episode "Chuckles Bites the Dust". He was the father of television writer and producer Christopher Lloyd.
