Biography
Elias Davis is an American television writer and producer. With writing partner David Pollock, whom he met while attending UCLA, he began contributing to variety shows including The Carol Burnett Show and sitcoms such as All in the Family and The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Davis wrote eighteen episodes of MASH (1972) between 1980 and 1983, serving as executive script consultant and contributing to the series finale "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen". He later wrote two episodes of Frasier (1993) and served as supervising producer on the series, for which he shared a 1995 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. His other credits include episodes of Cheers (1982), Growing Pains (1985) and Full House* (1987). He has taught comedy writing at USC and served as secretary-treasurer of the Writers Guild of America.
