Biography
Dan O'Shannon is an American television writer and producer. He began his career in the mid-1980s and worked as a writer on series including Newhart and Cheers (1982), where he spent four seasons as a writer and later executive producer.
He joined Frasier (1993) as co-executive producer, wrote or co-wrote seven episodes, and later served as showrunner. O'Shannon was an executive producer on Modern Family (2009) for its first five seasons. Other credits include Suddenly Susan, Better Off Ted, The Odd Couple (2015), Jericho (2006) and Threshold (2005). He has received six Primetime Emmy Awards, including five for Modern Family and one for Cheers, as well as Writers Guild of America Awards.
