Biography
Kenneth Mars (4 April 1935 – 12 February 2011) was an American actor and voice actor. Born in Chicago, he studied fine arts and acting at Northwestern University. He began his career in the early 1960s with small roles in theatre and on television series including Car 54, Where Are You? and Get Smart.
Mars appeared in two Mel Brooks films, as the Nazi playwright Franz Liebkind in The Producers (1968) and as Inspector Kemp in Young Frankenstein (1974). He played the Marshal in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969). Other film credits include What's Up, Doc? (1972), Radio Days (1987) and Shadows and Fog (1991).
On television he had a recurring role as Otto Mannkusser in Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2004). He provided the voice of King Triton in The Little Mermaid (1989) and its sequel, as well as characters in the Land Before Time series.
