Biography
Kevin Dowling is an American film and television director and producer. Raised in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, he began his career in New York theatre, directing the Off-Broadway premiere of The Sum of Us.
His feature film debut was the 1994 adaptation of The Sum of Us, co-directed with Geoff Burton and starring Russell Crowe and Jack Thompson. He followed this with the 1996 film Mojave Moon. Since the late 1990s he has directed numerous television episodes and films, including episodes of Gilmore Girls (2000), Heroes (2006) and The Americans (2013).
Dowling has directed more than 170 television episodes across series including The Mentalist, The Strain, Bosch, Jack Ryan, The Walking Dead and Mayans M.C., on which he also served as executive producer. His work on The Sum of Us received multiple awards, including Best Feature at the Sydney Film Festival.
