Biography
Kitty Winn, also credited as Katherine Winn, is an American actress. She was born on 21 February 1943 in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Boston University. She began her career in theatre, performing with the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco for four years and making her Broadway debut in 1969 in The Three Sisters.
Winn is known for her film roles as Helen in The Panic in Needle Park (1971), for which she received the Best Actress award at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival, and as Sharon Spencer in The Exorcist (1973) and its sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). She also appeared in They Might Be Giants (1971) and several television series including Kojak and The Streets of San Francisco. Much of her work was in theatre; she largely retired from acting in the early 1980s, with a brief return for a stage role in 2011.
