Biography

Laurence Bennett is an American production designer. He studied art at Occidental College in Los Angeles and Waseda University in Tokyo. After working in fringe theatre and lecturing at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, he returned to Los Angeles in the early 1980s.

Bennett was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Production Design for The Artist (2011), shared with set decorator Robert Gould. He is also known for production design on Crash (2004), The Next Three Days (2010), Freedom Writers (2007) and In the Valley of Elah (2007), as well as television series including Billions.
