Biography
Paul Haggis is a Canadian screenwriter, producer and director. Born in London, Ontario, he began his career writing for television series including The Love Boat, Diff'rent Strokes and thirtysomething, and created the series Due South and co-created Walker, Texas Ranger.
Haggis gained prominence in film with his screenplay and producer credit on Million Dollar Baby (2004), directed by Clint Eastwood, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. He wrote, directed and produced Crash (2005), which also won Best Picture, making him the first person to write consecutive Best Picture winners. His other credits include screenplays for Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008).
