Biography
Linda Hunt is an American actress. She was born on 2 April 1945 in Morristown, New Jersey, and trained at the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Goodman School of Drama at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Hunt made her film debut in Popeye (1980). She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Billy Kwan in The Year of Living Dangerously (1982). Her other film roles include Shadout Mapes in Dune (1984), Miss Schlowski in Kindergarten Cop (1990) and Dr. Mittag-Leffler in Stranger Than Fiction (2006). She provided the voice of Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas (1995) and its sequel, and Lady Proxima in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018). On television she played Henrietta "Hetty" Lange in NCIS: Los Angeles (2009–2023).
