Biography

Lisa Clarke is a television director. She studied theatre direction at the Central School of Speech and Drama and won the Carlton/Donmar Traineeship, spending a year as assistant director to Sam Mendes. After directing theatre productions she moved into television, working first as a script editor on EastEnders before directing episodes of Doctors and Holby City.

Her credits include multiple episodes of Call the Midwife (from 2016), WPC 56 (2015), The Good Karma Hospital (2018), Sanditon (2019), both seasons of The Spanish Princess (2019–2020), Dalgliesh (2021) and episodes of Outlander (2023–2024). She directed the short film Heard (2014) and was selected for the BAFTA Elevate scheme. She is Australian and began her career after moving to London.
