Biography
Lloyd Ahern Sr. (born Lloyd George Ahern) was an American cinematographer. He began his career in the camera department at Twentieth Century-Fox and advanced to director of photography on feature films and television series.
His credits include director of photography on Miracle on 34th Street (1947), Cry of the City (1948), Bewitched (1964), The Fugitive (1963), Adam-12 (1968) and The Love Boat (1977–1978). He also worked as a camera operator on films such as My Darling Clementine (1946) and Laura (1944).
Ahern won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series and received two further nominations, for work on The 20th Century-Fox Hour, Columbo and The Love Boat. He was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers. His son, Lloyd Ahern II, also became a cinematographer.
