Biography

Luke Geissbühler is an American cinematographer and producer. Born in Philadelphia on 21 January 1970, he graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film and Television. He is the son of graphic designer Steff Geissbühler and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

He worked as cinematographer on Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) and its sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020), as well as on Robots (2023), where he was also credited as co-producer. His other credits include the documentaries Helvetica (2007) and Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018).

Geissbühler received an Academy Award nomination for the short film Time Freak (2011) and an Emmy Award for the documentary Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street (2021).
