Biography
Marcus Stokes is an American director of film and television. He began his career in visual effects at George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic, working on projects including the Star Wars prequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.
Stokes has directed more than 40 episodes of television, including one episode of The Walking Dead (2022), multiple episodes of The Flash (2019–2022), 9-1-1 (2019–2022), Arrow (2019) and Criminal Minds. His feature directorial debut was the 2022 film State of Consciousness.
He holds an undergraduate degree in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He previously lived in rural Japan as an English teacher and translator.
