Biography
Matthew J. Lloyd is a Canadian cinematographer. Born in Alberta, he began working with moving images in the late 1990s as a skateboard videographer before studying film production at York University in Toronto and later at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
He shot the pilot and second episode of the FX series Fargo (2014), for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination, and the pilot of the HBO series Insecure (2016). His feature credits as director of photography include Robot & Frank (2012), Power Rangers (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). He has also worked on Marvel series including Daredevil (2015) and The Defenders (2017).
Lloyd is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers. He received an ASC Award nomination for his work on the Alpha House pilot (2013) and a Camerimage award for the music video Until the Quiet Comes (2013).
