Biography
Mehcad Brooks is an American actor. Born on 25 October 1980 in Austin, Texas, he attended the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television before leaving to pursue acting. He began his career as a fashion model.
Brooks is known for his roles as Matthew Applewhite in Desperate Housewives (2005–2006), Eggs Talley in True Blood (2008–2010), Terrance “TK” King in Necessary Roughness (2011–2013), James Olsen in Supergirl (2015–2021), and NYPD Detective Jalen Shaw in Law & Order (2022–2025). He also played Jax in Mortal Kombat (2021) and is set to reprise the role in Mortal Kombat II (2026). He received a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the ensemble cast of Desperate Housewives.
