Biography
Mert Rich is an American television writer and producer. He wrote the season 14 episode 'Helter Shelter' of The Simpsons (2002) with his writing partner Brian Pollack.
Rich contributed multiple episodes as a writer to Cheers (1989–1991) and held producing roles on the series, including co-producer and executive story consultant. His other credits include writing for Sledge Hammer! (1986–1988) and SCTV Network 90 (1981–1982), as well as executive producer positions on Sister, Sister (1994–1996) and Roc (1991–1992). He created the series Goode Behavior (1996). Rich has received two Primetime Emmy Awards.
