Biography
Mica Levi, also known as Micachu, is an English composer, musician and producer. Born in February 1987 in Guildford, Surrey, they studied at the Purcell School for Young Musicians and composition at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Levi first gained recognition with the experimental pop band Micachu and the Shapes, whose debut album Jewellery was released in 2009. They later turned to film scoring, providing the music for Under the Skin (2014), Jackie (2016), Monos (2019), Zola (2021) and The Zone of Interest (2023). Their score for Jackie earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score, and their work on Under the Skin received a European Film Award for Best Composer and a BAFTA nomination.
