Biography
Michael Cerveris is an American actor and singer. He was born on 6 November 1960 in Bethesda, Maryland, and raised in Huntington, West Virginia. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1979 and from Yale University in 1983 with a degree in theatre studies.
Cerveris has had a substantial career in stage musicals and plays. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as John Wilkes Booth in Assassins (2004) and the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role in Fun Home (2015). His Broadway credits include several Stephen Sondheim works such as Sweeney Todd, Road Show and Passion, as well as The Who's Tommy and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
On screen, he played Frank in The Mexican (2001). Other film roles include Elihas Starr in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) and Mr Tiny in Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009). Television appearances include September/The Observer in Fringe (2008–2013), Ted Gunn in Mindhunter (2017) and Professor Pyg in Gotham (2014).
