Biography

Michael J. Davis was a British cinematographer who worked in television and film from the 1960s to the 1990s. He contributed to series including The Sweeney (1975), where he served as lighting cameraman, The Professionals (1977–1983) and Minder (1979), and later episodes of Inspector Morse (1989). His feature credits include Pressure (1976), Checkpoint (1987) and Hôtel Terminus (1988).

Davis was nominated for a BAFTA Award. He was married to director Gabrielle Beaumont from 1994 until his death in 2008. He is the father of cinematographer Ben Davis.
