Biography

Michael O'Keefe is an American actor. Born in Mount Vernon, New York, in 1955, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and attended New York University. He holds an MFA in creative writing from Bennington College.

He is known for his roles as Ben Meechum in The Great Santini (1979), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, and as Danny Noonan in Caddyshack (1980). Other film credits include The Slugger's Wife (1985). On television, he appeared as Fred in the sitcom Roseanne from 1993 to 1995, and has had roles in series including Homeland and Michael Clayton (2007) as Barry Grissom.
