Biography

Monty Montgomery is an American film producer, director, screenwriter and actor. He co-directed, co-wrote and produced the 1981 independent film The Loveless with Kathryn Bigelow. He is also credited as Lafayette Montgomery for his acting role as the Cowboy in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive (2001).

Montgomery produced David Lynch's Wild at Heart (1990) and Jane Campion's The Portrait of a Lady (1996). He served as associate producer on the pilot of Twin Peaks (1990) and as executive producer on the series Hotel Room (1993), which he created with Lynch. In 1986 he was a co-founder of the production company Propaganda Films.
