Biography
Nathan Barr (born 9 February 1973) is an American film and television composer and musician. Born in New York City, he studied cello and English literature at Skidmore College before moving to Los Angeles in 1996. Early in his career he worked with Hans Zimmer on As Good as It Gets (1997) and The Prince of Egypt (1998).
Barr is known for scoring all seven seasons of HBO's True Blood (2008–2014), as well as The Americans (2013–2018), Carnival Row (2019), The Great (2020) and The Diplomat (2023). His film credits include Cabin Fever (2003), Hostel (2006), Hostel: Part II (2007), The Boy Next Door (2015), Flatliners (2017), The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) and The Hunt (2020). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music for the miniseries Hollywood (2020).
