Biography

Ned Dowd is an American film producer and former actor. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated from Bowdoin College in 1972 and earned a master's degree at McGill University. He played professional ice hockey before entering the film industry as a technical advisor on Slap Shot (1977), later working as an assistant director and line producer.

Dowd has production credits on films including The Last of the Mohicans (1992), The 13th Warrior (1999), Shanghai Noon (2000), Wonder Boys (2000), The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), King Arthur (2004) and Apocalypto (2006). He also took occasional acting roles, with his last being as Dr. Nichols in Bottle Rocket (1996).
