Biography
Néstor Carbonell is an American actor, director and screenwriter. Born in New York City on 1 December 1967, he graduated from Harvard University with a degree in English.
He first gained prominence as Luis Rivera in the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan (1996–2000). Carbonell is known for his roles as Richard Alpert in Lost (2007–2010), Sheriff Alex Romero in Bates Motel (2013–2017) and Mayor Anthony Garcia in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). He won the 2024 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in the FX series Shōgun.
