Biography
Nick Adams (1931–1968) was an American actor. After serving in the US Coast Guard from 1952 to 1955, he secured his first notable film role as Seaman Reber in Mister Roberts (1955) following an audition with director John Ford. That same year he appeared as the paper boy Bomber in Picnic (1955) and as Chick in Rebel Without a Cause (1955).
Adams became known for supporting parts in films including Teacher's Pet (1958), Pillow Talk (1959) and Hell Is for Heroes (1962), and for his starring role as Johnny Yuma in the ABC television series The Rebel (1959–1961). He received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in Twilight of Honor (1963). He also appeared in several Japanese-produced films such as Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965).
