Biography

Nicolás Giacobone is an Argentine writer and screenwriter. He was born in Buenos Aires in 1975.

He is known for his screenwriting collaborations with director Alejandro González Iñárritu, including Biutiful (2010), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths (2022). With his cousin Armando Bó and others, he shared the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Birdman. He has also written the short-story collection Algún Cristo (2001) and novels including The Crossed-Out Notebook (2018).

Giacobone's maternal grandfather was film director Armando Bó; his cousin Armando Bó is a frequent collaborator.
