Biography
Nicole Yorkin is an American television writer and producer. She began her career as a reporter for the Los Angeles Herald Examiner before training at the American Film Institute, where she met her long-term writing partner Dawn Prestwich.
Yorkin and Prestwich have collaborated on numerous drama series. Their credits include writing and producing roles on Chicago Hope (1994–1999), Carnivàle (2003–2005), Battlestar Galactica (2005), The Riches (2007–2008), FlashForward (2009–2010) and The Killing (2011–2014). They created The Education of Max Bickford (2001–2002) and later Z: The Beginning of Everything (2015–2017) and Hit & Run (2021).
In 1997 Yorkin shared an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for Chicago Hope. In 2003 she and Prestwich won a Writers Guild of America award for the pilot of The Education of Max Bickford.
