Biography

Nilo Rodis-Jamero is a Filipino production designer, art director, costume designer and producer. Born on 15 March 1950 in Cebu, Philippines, he trained as an industrial designer before being hired by George Lucas to work at Industrial Light & Magic.

He served as assistant art director on the miniature and optical effects unit for The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and as costume designer on Return of the Jedi (1983), for which he received the 1984 Saturn Award for Best Costume Designer. His credits also include assistant art director on Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and art direction or visual effects art direction on several Star Trek films, including Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991).

Rodis-Jamero later worked as production designer on Johnny Mnemonic (1995) and Virtuosity (1995), and as associate or co-producer on films including Fire in the Sky (1993), Home Alone 3 (1997) and Flubber (1997).
