Biography
Norbert Leo Butz is an American actor and singer. He was born on 30 January 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri. He trained at Webster University, where he earned a BFA, and at the University of Alabama, where he earned an MFA.
Butz is known for his work in Broadway theatre. He won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical twice, for his performances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2005) and Catch Me If You Can (2011), and is one of only nine actors to have achieved this. His other Broadway credits include originating roles in Wicked and Big Fish. His film and television work includes Dan in Real Life (2007), Fair Game (2010), Disconnect (2013), The Exorcist: Believer (2023) as Tony West, and A Complete Unknown (2024).
